10MustKnows24 authors convened in Leipzig for Writing Workshop
On 20 September the 10MustKnows24 authors and coordinators from the Leibniz Research Network Biodiversity (Leibniz Biodiversity) and the BMBF Research Initiative for the Conservation of Biodiversity (FEdA) convened at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) in Leipzig for their central writing workshop.

During this event, the participants collaboratively agreed on the following central message for the upcoming publication:
“The scientific content of our 10MustKnows24 should be novel, specific, and relevant with regard to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) targets and goals. The content should support an ambitious and measurable implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy 2030 in Germany and promote the urgent action and societal change needed to reach the national, EU, and international biodiversity goals by 2030 and beyond.”
Connections were drawn between the 10MustKnows24 findings and the 23 targets of the GBF, which will be presented in a central graphic. Additionally the session held discussions about the design of the publication, the roadmap until spring 2024, and identified reviewers for the forthcoming policy report.
